Here is a map of our final projects. Unfortunately, all of the Boston-area projects are scrunched together to make room for New York City, Warwick, Rhode Island, and Goffstown, New Hampshire. But you can zoom in on Boston to get a clearer view. There is some great work here. I hope you’ll take a look at what your classmates have been up to.
Emily Bell, director of Columbia’s Tow Center for Digital Journalism, last week delivered an important speech about social media, journalism’s new gatekeepers. I would like you to read her speech and Mathew Ingram’s analysis of it before class on Tuesday and be prepared to discuss it.
More: I also wrote about Bell’s speech for WGBHNews.org.
As I had hoped, Adam Gaffin picked up our “Hidden Gems” feature for Universal Hub. Please have a look.
Also, I have written a post explaining how we did it. You all did a great job, but I know I rushed through some parts of it. If you would like to try it on your own, you may find my guide useful.
Where are Boston’s “Hidden Gems”? During the past two weeks you have been seeking out your favorite places to eat, drink and make merry. Here are the results.
